Abstract

The purpose of the article is to study the development of Bashkatovo village and the Temple of the Tolgskaya Icon of the Mother of God. The particular interest, according to the author, is the information about the history of the Temple of the Tolgskaya Icon of the Mother of God from its foundation to the present day, within which certain facts from the life of the organizers of the Temple – the landowner Tinkov and Baron Austen-Saken are considered. The description is based on the archival data, the studies of Orel art historians, local legends.
