The aim of the study is a comprehensive analysis of the development of trade and economic relations between the Russian Empire and the peoples of the North Caucasus in the period from the 18th to the mid-19th century. The work covers the key historical stage of the region's integration into the economic space of Russia, characterized by a complex interweaving of political, economic and cultural factors.
The main attention is paid to the evolution of forms of trade interaction, from barter to the formation of commodity-money relations. The role of traditional trade routes, fairs and barter yards in the development of economic ties is considered. Particular emphasis is placed on the analysis of the commodity structure of trade, including export-import operations, price dynamics and the specifics of demand for various goods.
The methodology is based on the principles of historicism and a systems approach, allowing us to analyze trade and economic relations in the dynamics of their development. Comparative historical and structural-functional methods are used, as well as the analysis of archival materials and statistical data to reconstruct a complete picture of economic interaction. Particular attention is paid to interdisciplinary synthesis, incorporating the achievements of economic history and cultural anthropology.
Particular attention is paid to the role of individual social groups in the development of trade - Russian merchants, mountain traders, Cossacks and local nobility. The influence of the military-political situation in the Caucasus on the state of trade and economic relations is studied, including periods of aggravation and normalization of relations.
The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using historical experience to develop modern models of economic interaction with the regions of the North Caucasus. The results of the study can be applied in scientific and pedagogical activities, as well as in the formation of regional economic policy, taking into account historical traditions and features of the development of trade and economic relations.
