The purpose of the article is to study the patriotic activities of Muslims in the USSR during the Great Patriotic War. Patriotic activities during the Great Patriotic War and the improvement of relations with the Soviet state were typical not only for Christians living in the USSR, but also for representatives of other faiths and primarly Muslims, who made up a significant part of the country's population.
The article is devoted to the participation of Muslims in the defense of the country in 1941–1945. The relevance of the topic is due to the need to analyze the role of various ethnic and religious groups in the historical context, as well as their contribution to military events. The study of the patri-otic activity of Muslims in the USSR allows to present more fully the diversity and unity of the Soviet people during the war, as well as to identify the features of their motivation.
The work examines the problems of interaction between Muslim communities and state structures, methods of mobilization and formation of front-line units from representatives of Muslim peoples, as well as their participation in partisan movements and labor fronts. The issue of the influ-ence of religious and cultural values on patriotic activity and morale of colleagues is also touched upon.
The research methodology is comprehensive and based on an interdisciplinary approach. Research methods include the analysis of archival documents, publications of that time, as well as oral memories of veterans. The use of an interdisciplinary approach that combines historical, socio-logical and cultural methods allows to understand deeper the context and content of patriotic mani-festations of Muslims during the war.
The analysis revealed that Muslims of the USSR made a significant contribution to the fight against fascism. Their participation not only in military operations, but also in providing assistance on the rear front demonstrates a high level of patriotism and devotion to the home country. Thus, the presented study emphasizes the importance of taking into account ethnocultural aspects in studying the history of the Great Patriotic War and demystifying the public perception of the collective activi-ties of different peoples of the USSR.
