Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze the foundations of ideological and political education in pioneer camps in the USSR in the 70-80s of the twentieth century as a part of Ideological education system of the USSR. The methodology of the study is a quantitative and qualitative analysis of regulatory documents in the field of organization of summer recreation during this period.

The article is based on the analysis of archival sources, as well as materials from newspapers and magazines of those years. This leads to the conclusion that in the USSR in the 70-80s of the twentieth century, the task was to strengthen the ideological, moral, labor education of pioneers and schoolchildren during summer holidays. This actively contributed to the education of political culture of teenagers. International Children's Festival of 1977 «Let There Always Be Sunshine! » expanded its boundaries on the sites of pioneer camps of the USSR. The festival became a good example of a comprehensive approach to solving educational problems, including ideological and moral, labor and international education.

It is concluded that the inclusion of pioneers in practical activities was of great importance in the educational work of the camp for the formation of a worldview. Each detachment had a pioneer care zone in the camp and outside it. During the first days, the counselor, educator organized the children for work in the short-range area. This included cleaning bedrooms, decorating squad corners, tidying up sports fields and playgrounds, preparing a place for a squad fire, etc. The expanded zone of pioneer activity included surrounding villages, enterprises, kindergartens, etc. Thus, by the end of the 70s – beginning of the 80s, a comprehensive system of ideological and political education in pioneer camps had developed in the USSR.
